For years, the NFL took up two days of the week - Sunday and Monday - with the latter only one game at night. Exception was made for Thanksgiving as theDetroit LionsandDallas Cowboyseach hosted a game on the holiday. The NFL expanded with Thursday Night Football starting in 2006 with five matchups throughout the season. In 2012, there were 13 branded Thursday Night Football regular season games, running from Week 2 through to Week 15. As of 2020, Thursday Night Football runs through to the penultimate week of the regular season. Thursday Night Football games will be carried on Prime Video with exceptions for the season opener and Thanksgiving.
